Ely was amazing, to say the least. It was a private event and she performed about 14 songs. After the performance, we were able to meet her. She was very nice and attentive to everyone. I LOVE you Ely.

| All about Viva Chicago and lots of pictures |

As I mentioned on my previous post, I attended the annual Viva Chicago Festival. I was uncertain whether I was going this year because they had forecasted rain and I didn’t have anyone to go with. Needless to say, I found someone to go with me and it didn’t rain, at least not when we were there. I know a few people from the radio station, so as soon as I arrived I started mingling and catching up. We were the first ones to take pictures with all the guest celebrities and I really had an awesome time. To my surprise, Miranda, a pop group from Argentina, who are becoming really famous in Mexico, performed. It was surprising because they were not in the program for this year. They were really nice yet very peculiar. They looked very flamboyant but I couldn’t tell if it was part of their act or if they are indeed gay. I also met Morrison (have no clue who he is), Dj Kane, Miranda and Anais. The only person I really wanted to meet was Anais. I really like her style and music. She was very nice and even though she did not arrive on time for her autograph session (it was postponed until after her performance) she did not leave until everyone got an autograph at least that is what I was told. She was there for more than an hour and the line was huge; it was the longest line for any of the performers. Fortunately, as I mentioned, I was one of the first ones for the entire meet and greets. I wanted to avoid what occurred last year. As I was in line, waiting patiently, to meet Fey, there were only about 2 people ahead of me when she had to leave. I’m posting some of the pictures I took. Some of them are too close up. I really hate posting those but I promised to share. I also took some of our city. I really liked those city pictures because they look like generic backgrounds. Enjoy!

| Back from Mexico |

I returned from Mexico, Friday evening. Our flight was delayed an hour because of all the new security measures. I hate turbulence because I get nervous, but fortunately our flight was quite smooth. I really enjoyed Mexico. It is just so different and so much more relaxing, at least when you are on vacation. My mom is from a small town in Zacatecas and there is just so much peace and quite. Life is less hectic.
During my two weeks and a half, I was oblivious to the media, current events and my surroundings. I can honestly say I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I am back to reality. I will post pictures soon. I did some shopping. I bought assorted handmade bracelets, a pair of shoes, 3 belts, and lots of cd’s and DVD’s; some of them original and some not. You can actually get about 3 to 4 movies in one DVD. I also got some mp3 CD's. Here is a list of the movies I got and CD’s:

It is better to drink wine and talk shit than to drink water

| R.I.P Soraya (1969-2006) |

I was in total disbelief when I found out Soraya had passed away this morning. I'm sure most people were because most of her fans thought she had recovered from breast cancer. However, she never disclosed that her cancer had returned. It is a very sad day because we lost a very talented writer and singer. Soraya you will be missed.
I tried scanning the pictures of both times I met her, but my scanner was not working. Here is a picture from the last time she was in Chicago, during the VIVA Fest.

| Eduardo Capetillo, Bibi and others |

I met up with Joe (Bomitoni) and his boyfriend and Douglas Park for a Cinco de Mayo festival. They had a series special guest: Eduardo Capetillo, Bibi Gaytan, Alex Sirvent and some other actress, who I cannot recall her name, but you could see her on the pictures. I got there late because I could not find a ride. Unfortunately, I was not able to take pictures with anyone but I took pictures of the celebrities on stage. I mostly took pictures of Eduardo because he was closer to the public and was the only one who kept facing and greeting his fans. I was surprised to see, what I assume, is a beer belly. Bibi is beautiful though and there is no way you can tell she had 4 kids and is in her mid 30's. Since there were a lot of people, I was not able to find Joe, until after the presentation. By the time I met up with Joe, he had already called Bibi's attention with the album he had of hers. He was fortunate to get an autograph and a picture, which I'm sure he'll post soon and I'll share. Bibi is absolutely gorgeous and a tad taller than her husband, Eduardo. Here are a few pictures:

Andrea Echeverri never ceases to surprise me. Her stage presence and the energy she exudes are inexplicable. Her voice literally sounds as if it is off an album. She seriously rocks! I was a tad disappointed because she didn’t sing “Amortiguador,” from her solo album. However, I was able to grab a bundle of carnations she threw to the audience. I’ve never been fond of her wardrobe but I have learned that she wants to be everything but ordinary. Her talent, however, overshadows her choice in clothing. Now I actually look forward to seeing what she is going to wear next. I went to her website and believe she is coming again in August. Yay!

I went to Circuit on Thursday for Gloria Trevi’s concert. It was very exciting because I didn't know what to expect, considering that I had never been to any of her concerts. She was awesome but I was a tad disappointed because her performance was short (approx. 40 minutes) but what can I expect when they were only charging $20 to get in. I actually got a VIP ticket, which gave you access to meet her backstage. I have to admit that she looks really good for her age. I can't believe she just had a baby not too long ago. The same promoters are bringing, in the near future, La India, Paulina Rubio as well as Fey. However, the next person to visit Circuit is Pilar Montenegro (March 23rd). I took tons of pictures but I'll only post a few on here. If anyone is interested, I am going to upload them all to Snapfish, and I can send you the link.

I am extremely content because I just received the results for an exam I took a month ago and I passed. Now I need to go celebrate. I was exteremly nervous because I was uncertain how I did and thank God it's the last exam I needed to take before obtaining certification and graduating. Therefore,if all goes as planned, I should graduate in May. |
